Physico-chemical analyses: Thermal, chemical, spectroscopic analysis, etc.
Physicochemical analyses enable the analysis of materials and their characteristicsin order to confirm their compositions or identify defects. Depending on the problems encountered, various analytical techniques can be implemented:
• Metallic materials : SEM-EDX, ICP or SEO chemical analysis, GDMS, etc.
• Organic materials : FTIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, DSC, GC / MC, etc.
• Mineral materials : SEM-EDX, XRD, (...)

Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometry
10 December 2009, by AdministrateurDefinition :
Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometry (GDOES) is used to perform chemical analysis and surface profiles on solid conductive materials.
Principle :
A GDOES is made up of a discharge lamp, an optical spectrometer, and a data acquisition & processing system. The sample is put on a copper electrode (so the sample is the cathode, the copper the anode).
The discharge is applied between the anode and the cathode, that triggers off a sample surface erosion. Atoms ejected (...) -
Corrosion defect analysis
17 June 2015, by AdministrateurSTUDY OF CORROSION PHENOMENA: Searching for the cause of premature aging or the incompatibility between a material and its environment
This type of defect can pose a risk to the reliability and strength of the materials. Understanding corrosion phenomena enables manufacturers to control the risks in relation to the relevant technical and economic issues.
The capacity to implement the aging tests and analyze the corrosion phenomena involved is a specific feature of the Analyses & (...)
