THE ANALYSIS OF AN VISUAL DEFECT: Observing and determining the cause of the defect
The appearance of a visual defect on a part is often evidence of a failure in the process. The defect can have several impacts on the product itself, from the aesthetics of the part to the impact on the very function of the part and can cause returns from customers. When this type of failure occurs, it is important to identify its nature in order to trace the origin of the problem.
Our defect analysis will (...)

FORENSIC EXAMINATION
23 July 2018, by Thomas LietartFORENSIC EXAMINATION : ACCOMPANYING EXPERTS IN DISPUTE RESOLUTION
A part of forensic examinations and/or dispute resolution, an expert must call upon a service provider or specialist advisor laboratory to conductimpartial and technical investigations. In the ANALYSES & SURFACE laboratory, the expert finds the skills and the means with which to analyze all types of materials (metallic, mineral, organic), particularly in the fields of civil engineering, building/housing or industry. Reliability of electronic components
17 June 2015, by AdministrateurTHE RELIABILITY OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS: Determining the cause of a failure in an electronic component
Finding a defect on a chip card and its components can be very long and difficult due to the size of the various existing electronic components. The occurrence of a fault even within a component can make its characterization difficult because of its size and the ability to disassemble it. Industrialists must be able to carry out the investigations required to solve the problem in order (...) -
X-Rays Microtomography
10 December 2009, by AdministrateurPrinciple
The X-beam passes through the sample, and is then collected by a detector. The X-ray intensity loss between the source and the detector is linked to the atomic structure of the material, that permits to draw the X-Rays radiography (like a medical X-Rays radiography).
The 2D sample rotation gives different X-Rays pictures (different angles). All those pictures are then collected and re-built to form a 3D reconstruction. Thus the inner structure of the sample can be 3D-observed (...)
